Collection: Masks
In March of 2020 my son was diagnosed with Covid-19 and rushed to the hospital. He was in Brooklyn, a long way from me and I couldn’t do anything for him or the healthcare workers that were caring for him. That was really hard. That’s when I jumped into action and started a local group of seamstresses that could sew masks. Over the course of the next five months we adapted 3 different patterns and sewed over 3,500 masks for our local healthcare and essential workers. The healthcare workers wanted a mask that didn’t have elastic around the ears. It irritated their ears and they wanted something more secure around the sides. We sewed an N99 fabric into the masks for extra protection. The design you are holding is an adaptation of the most popular mask we made. This mask however, does not have an N99 filter. It’s comfortable and covers the face is a secure way. It’s nice to be able to pull it down around your neck if you don’t need it on, that way it’s always at hand and ready to pull up when needed. I’ve put a small bead on the bottom elastic for cinching up for a secure fit. It can be easily removed, if not needed. If you are interested in a filter or a nose wire for your next mask, send me an email and I can accommodate. gailbrilldesign@gmail.com. Thank you for wearing a mask!
